Insights Discovery SW

Upgrading the SW to Dsicovery 3.5

Question # 1.  For this downloadable update, is the user required to have a previous version of Discovery installed first?

Answer:  No – When the file is downloaded and installed, it will be able to detect if a previous version exists on the system or not.  Then, it will either update a pre-existing version, or it will install the full Discovery 3.5 program, including all the new graphics.

Question # 2.  Is this upgrade compatible with Windows Vista?

Answer:  This is a functional and technical upgrade, which also enables Discovery to work with Windows VISTA.

Reminder:  With this software upgrade, there have been NO changes to the content of the Discovery profile other than the Insights Logo.

This update to our software is a technical update and enables the production of Insights Discovery Personal Profiles with the new Insights logo on computers running Microsoft Windows Vista, as well as Windows XP.

In order to provide our community with the quickest and easiest access to the new software version, we have it posted online and available for immediate download.

A complete set of instructions are found in the attached document.

Please note that the installer file is approximately 183MB, so you will find that the download will take upwards of 30 minutes or more, depending on your connection speed.

Compact & Repair Database

If you feel like your Discovery SW is going a bit slow it can be a good idea to run a Compact & Repair database, to do this OPEN Discovery go to TOOLS > Compact & Repair Database, if you see a message "No Report Database Open"do not worry this is the correct message the the SW generates as it is doing the compact & repair.  If this process does not improve the performance of the SW, your other only options are to BACK-UP the database and re-install the SW.  Lastly, open a new database, unfortunately there is no way to move data between databases
